He uri ahau o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa, o Ngāti Porou hoki. Ko Ngāti Muretu, Ngaitāneroa, Ngāti Rangi me Te Whānau a Hinerupe ngā hapū.
I currently serve as a Tiriti o Waitangi specialist for the Deputy Vice Chancellor Maori Office, Massey University, and as a senior educator of Te Ata Kura Educators, a branch of our community political group Te Ata Kura (Society for Conscientisation).
As an Te Ata Kura educator I have been engaged in delivering Tiriti o Waitangi and decolonisation workshops across tertiary, community and public sector/government contexts to Maori, Pākehā and Tauiwi immigrants. Ngāpuhi Speaks is a core text in our Tiriti o Waitangi tertiary courses and community workshops, and provides significant insight for students and participants into the historical context leading up to and beyond the signing of te Tiriti.
