Piripi

Ko Piripi Prendergast ahau. Ngāti Pākehā tōku iwi. I am a former secondary teacher and now work for Tokona Te Raki researching streaming and building the movement to end it. As a teacher, I was totally blind to the damage streaming does to all students but especially Māori and Pasifika. It was only when visiting a school on a day that a large number of Māori students had been placed in a ‘cabbage’ class and witnessing their hurt and anger, that I began the journey to end this destructive system.
