Actions suggested during the "Health and wellbeing: tuning into the Māory Health Authority" webinar
Join a quick lunchtime session hosted by ActionStation on how to show solidarity through effective messaging in online spaces on Thursday 16 Sep at 12 noon to 12.45pm.
If you cannot make it to the session, below are some ready to use messages you can copy/paste into online comms or use as a basis for a more personal message when the need arises.
Māori should have the final say on what happens to ensure better health outcomes for their whānau and I support that/stand in solidarity with that.
We can only be our best and create a country where everyone can thrive when we listen and acknowledge the truth of our past and present. Together, we can work to undo the damage that still causes our Māori whānau to suffer worse health. That’s why I think a Māori Health Authority is worth supporting.
When decisions are in our hands, our solutions work, and we take care of our communities. We all benefit when we listen to one another and stand in solidarity.
Actions suggested by Dr Emily Gill's at the start of the webinar:
Contact the Transition Unit directly to ask how you can contribute to the design discussions for your interest areas ([email protected])
Contact your marae to find out who is involved in the hāpu/Iwi partnership discussions that are part of the MHA establishment and find out how you can be involved
Contact your PHO to find out how you can be involved in the reform discussions. PHOs currently hold funding contracts, so are key players in the design discussions. You can find out from your GP practice which Primary Health Organization (PHO) they are part of.
This space will be updated once more detail about the MHA becomes available and public submissions are sought.
